In 2022, our parent company, Gallant International Inc., became a ROC™ (Regenerative Organic Certified®) brand and officially starting the largest ROC cotton project of its kind in the world in Odisha, India. This paved the way for us to create Vottera as a ROC brand from day one. Our brand’s 2024 cotton harvest came from the work of 432 Indigenous farmers whose lives we are positively impacting, thanks to the many human and Nature benefits that come through regenerative organic agriculture. And whose work is positively impacting us and the planet in return.
Vottera’s 432 farmers are part of a group effort – Vottera, Gallant Intl, Terra Thread - involving 1200 ROC farmers. Their changemaking farms span across 3400 acres in India (Odisha & Karnataka)

Like farming challenges across the Earth, our farmers in Odisha and Karnataka are struggling with climate change. Building self-sufficient, resilient farms on a foundation of nutrient-rich soils is imperative. This is a problem for today, with implications for the many tomorrows that will come. That is why our work at Vottera is about fashioning a better tomorrow and inviting consumers to vote for a better Earth with every purchase as we are doing with every brand action. To do this, we are collaborating with local partners, research institutions and global experts to bring about a transformative vision: to regenerate soils, ecosystems and farmer livelihoods through regenerative organic certified cotton and agriculture.

Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC™) is the highest standard for organic agriculture in the world, and the only certificate with stringent requirements for soil health, animal welfare, and the social well-being of farmers and workers. Regenerative Organic Certified® is overseen by the nonprofit Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA), co-founded by the Rodale Institute, Dr. Bronner’s and Patagonia. This certification is a way of being for us, and a better path forward for the communities we touch: soil, farmer, factory and you.
